Great Ocean Road, Princetown VIC

Another cold night in the car, this time at Port Campbell so I could get up early and hopefully catch a decent sunrise. I had a particular shot in mind but when I saw the blanket grey cloud cover I knew I’d have to find something different. I’d just gone past the main car park for the apostles when the sun poked through and I had the road, the clouds, the cliffs, the ocean and some sunlight all together. I hit the brakes, backed up, grabbed the camera, climbed onto the roof and shot quickly, knowing the light wouldn’t last. Soon after an old German guy came riding along on a pushbike. We chatted and he said he was cycling around the whole Australian coastline, reckoned it would take him about six months.
