Presgrave Place, Melbourne
I’ve always liked this little back alley (it runs off Howey Place which is off Little Collins) and tried shooting it a few different times but never got anything worth printing. Then one day when I was out and about with the camera I walked past, saw this little scene and was inspired by the combination of light and subject. I asked the gentleman if I could take a quick shot and he (reluctantly) said yes. The shot is exactly how I saw it, it’s not set up and I didn’t ask him to pose. It’s just one of those interesting scenes you see in Melbourne from time to time and I was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time.
