I love this clock. It's the Prague Astronomical Clock, it's been there over 400 years before Melbourne was even founded, it's huge and it looks fantastic. After giving it some thought I decided on a dawn shot to get the sun on the wall so it was another early morning for me. I got lucky with the weather (first time for everything) so I hadn’t got up early for nothing. Normally there are dozens of tourists standing in front of and all around the clock so a shot like this would be impossible later in the day but this early, when sane people are still in bed, I had a chance of a clear shot. Except there were two young backpackers sitting right in front at the base of the clock, looking at a map. It felt rude to ask them to move just for me so I walked around a bit, hoping they'd get up and leave on their own. They didn't and the sun wasn't going to wait so I approached them, told them what I was trying to do, and asked if they could just scoot out of the way for a bit so I could take a quick shot. They couldn't have been nicer about it and this was the result. Then a lady with a camera who was hovering nearby came up and thanked me because she was also waiting for them to leave and take her own shot. It's a popular clock.
