Fitzroy, Melbourne
The intersection in the background is Brunswick and Argyle streets in Fitzroy. I didn’t know this bit of street art was there, I was just wandering the back streets looking for anything interesting to shoot (it’s a very scientific approach). After appreciating the artwork for a bit I tried to figure out how to shoot it without creating converging verticals (the sign of a lazy photographer). Lucky for me, the Red Triangle pool hall was right there and I could see there were upstairs windows facing that wall so I headed on up, had a chat to the guy behind the counter and told him what I wanted to do. He said ‘No problem’ and showed me into the storeroom that had the window I wanted. Sometimes you just get lucky.
